It could be used as a fun board for some forums maybe? :D

In the ACP any section or category can be set up to do that. So I guess I am already done. :P

Just noticed :p
How about making it more.. modern, like when you reload the page, many boards have this "popup" if you get a new PM, why not make new PMs appear facebook-style, so that the user dont have to leave a topic to read the PMs? :D

Oooo, and I just noticed that the first post (the topic) disobeyed the rules of the game, well, Rule 4

I could do that. The popup to inform a user would be fairly easy. I dont do alot of Javascripts so showing a full pm might be a little difficult. I dont use facebook though, do you mean just have a new page popup? Maybe a little modified, so it only shows the pm. I could do that easy...

Modern is definitely where I want to go. But it takes a long time to get to what I have now :p I have lots of ideas, but after 9 months, I want someone to see it. Haha

Haha, good rule catch.

Like, the thing you could do, would be to iFrame the PM system.
Anyway, this is how Facebook chat looks like (bad image)

I might do a badass design for the first version of this forum :)
Lots of JS hacks :D

That is more like instant messaging? It would be cool to have something like that here... Like PMs would be good for sending long messages with bbcode to members who are offline. Instant messaging could be similar to that in the bottom of the screen with members who are online. But, I dont know how I would create that.

Im thinking more of the concept.
Like, normally youd have to "reload" the page when you get a PM, but how about displaying it LIKE an im, but its still just a PM. You need to reload the page to get new PMs, but when you have a new PM, youll be able to read and reply without scrolling to the top of the page then clicking the "Messages" then reply :D

something like:
<div style="position:fixed;bottom:0;right:0;width: 300px;" onclick=""> <iframe width="100%" height="100%" src="PM.php" /> </div>

Hmm, I get what you are saying now. That sounds awesome but I dont know how to do that. :( My first guess would be to have a javascript or ajax check the db every 15 seconds or something for new posts?

Not needed really, not if its only going to be like an alternative to the old PM system :)
Then it just looks like an IM, but acts the same as a PM.

I will do a popup, because it isnt very obvious when you get a pm. In the future I can do an alternative to the PM system so you dont have to leave the current page. Also, I would look into having a script check for new pms without refreshing.

But right now, I am going to sleep :) Peace out
